» 07.06.2004 - Spanish Ministry of Health confirms 100% success of alcohol and cocaine detoxification treatments.

ONCE METHODS AND OUTCOMES OF THE ADVANCED ADDICTION TREATMENTS SPANISH CENTRE (TAVAD) HAVE BEEN ANALYSED AND EVALUATED, THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH CONFIRMS A 100% SUCCESS OF ALCOHOL AND COCAINE TAVAD DETOXIFICATION TREATMENTS.

In its latest technical report, the Medical Technologies Evaluation Agency, dependent on the Ministry of Health, corroborates the 100% success of polydrug addiction treatment, that is, alcohol and other drugs (cocaine and tranquillizers) TAVAD detoxification treatments. It’s the first time a detoxification treatment achieves complete effectiveness.

At the time data was gathered to develop this evaluation study (March 1st 2003), a total of 221 patients diagnosed with alcohol dependence had followed the ultrarapid detoxification treatment for two days as in-patients.

Detoxification was completed in 100% of the cases, without any adverse effects which could imply procedure interruption.

With regard to patient characteristics, the average age is 41’1 years. Most of them are male and married. Nevertheless, a high percentage of them are divorced.

░ Thanks to the TAVAD methods, almost 60% of alcohol addicts have remained abstinent and have recovered consciousness and judgment ability two years after discharge, while living in their usual social setting. In Spain, there are about a million and a half alcohol abusers.

TAVAD was established in 1988, under the name CITA. Our main objectives are the treatment of drug abuse and clinical research to develop new and more successful addiction treatments. In the clinical research field, we have developed three new treatments for alcohol, cocaine and tranquillizer addiction. All of them, as well as, the Ultra Rapid Opiate Detoxification (UROD), are based on neuronal activity regulation in those brain areas harmed by drug abuse. There is no suffering during treatment, so the physical recovery of the brain is completed in a short period of time.
