Spanish scientists have remarkably improved the medical procedure´s effectiveness

Drugs addicts have been lengthy stigmatized because of lack of scientific knowledge about this illness. Now, they could be treated with the same respect as people with socially accepted pathologies are.

Neuronal recovery approach allows these scientists to remarkably improve the medical procedure´s effectiveness, and makes it possible for the patients to accept treatments they were reticent to undergo. Moreover, this approach to drug addiction implies an increasing demand for treatment, and a reduction of treatment costs in comparison with traditional treatments.

Medical Technologies Evaluation Agency, dependent on Carlos III Health Institute, has been analyzing since 1997 the outcome and effectiveness of these innovations.
